Charges laid in crash with stolen vehicle investigation in Strathroy

Strathroy police were able to identify a man in connection to a collision involving an alleged stolen car.

Police say the crash happened on Tuesday on Head Street near Metcalfe Street.

Then on Wednesday just after 7:30 p.m., police searched a house in Strathroy that they believed the suspect was hiding. The suspect was not there at the time, but, police did arrest another man on an outstanding arrest warrant.

After searching the area, police were able to find the original suspect they were looking for, hiding in an hidden area on the property.

A 35- year-old man was then taken into custody and has been charged with 10 criminal offences including; possession of stolen property, fail to remain at the scene of an accident, fail to comply with a probation order and several weapons offences.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
