Woodstock police issue vehicle theft warning

Woodstock police are warning the public of a recent string of vehicle thefts in the city.

Police say the suspects are going into businesses and finding car keys in lockers, purses and jackets. The suspects then use the keys to drive the cars away.

Business owners are encouraged to secure the doors to the private areas of their buildings such as, locker rooms, change rooms and lunch rooms.

Employees should make sure that their purses and jackets are properly stored away. Also, valuables should also be kept at home, while car keys should be kept close by.

Sporting arenas and gyms are also potential target areas.
