Motorcyclist dies after colliding with van

One man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a van on Veterans Memorial Parkway in London.

The London Police Service said the crash happened on Wednesday shortly before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of Veterans and Trafalgar Street.

The adult male motorcyclist, identified by police as 37-year-old Jody G. Peterson of London, was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the van, an adult female, suffered minor injuries and was also taken to hospital.

The intersection was closed in all directions for several hours to allow officers to conduct a crash reconstruction investigation at the scene. Police said the investigation is in its early stages and it is unknown if any charges will be laid at this time.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
