Stabbing on Talbot Street sends man to hospital

One person is in custody after a stabbing on Saturday night that sent a man to the hospital.

According to police, it happened around 8 p.m. in the area of Talbot Street and Oxford Street East. Officers arrived at the scene for a weapons call and found a 48-year-old man with several stab wounds to his lower back. He was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect was located nearby and taken into custody. Police were also able to recover a knife from the scene.

Police believe the victim and suspect are known to each other. Anyone with information related to the stabbing is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
