Crash slows traffic on Highway 401 in Thames Centre

One lane of Highway 401 had to be shut down for around two hours following a two-vehicle crash in Thames Centre.

Middlesex County Ontario Provincial police responded to the crash in the eastbound lanes of the highway between Dorchester Road and Elgin Road on Monday at around 1:45 p.m.  One of the vehicles was towing a camping trailer.

One driver suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash.

The highway was fully reopened shortly before 4 p.m. after emergency crews cleared the vehicles from the scene.

It is unknown if any charges will be laid.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
