Body found near Woodstock train station

Foul play is not suspected after the body of a man was found near the Woodstock Via Rail station early Tuesday.

Woodstock police were notified about an unresponsive man, who was on the tracks adjacent to 100 Victoria St. S around 6 a.m.

The coroner was called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing. However, the incident is not considered suspicious and there is no threat to public safety, police said.

Three Via Rail trains -- 82, 70 and 71 -- were delayed due to the investigation. Via has since confirmed rail service had returned to its normal schedule.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
