ATV driver critically hurt in crash

An ATV driver had to be airlifted to hospital after his machine and a cargo van collided south of Ingersoll on Thursday.

The van was heading north on Culloden Line when it collided with the eastbound ATV at Daniel Road around 11:37 a.m. The force of the crash caused a 40-year-old man to be tossed from the ATV, Oxford OPP said.

The man was rushed to hospital with injuries described as "life-threatening".

Culloden Line between Mt. Elgin Road and Prouse Road and Daniel Road between Dereham Line and Pigram Line were closed for roughly five hours while police investigated the collision. All roads were reopened around 5:15 p.m.

According to police, Daniel Road is controlled by stop signs for east and westbound traffic.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 1-888 -310-1122.
