Warrant issued for man after girl touched inappropriately

Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for an Edmonton man who is wanted for allegedly inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl in London.

The London Police Service said on Friday that the warrant was issued for 49-year-old Moses Wal on charges of sexual assault, sexual interference with a person under 16 and invitation to sexual touching to a person under 16.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Wednesday near Sherwood Forest Mall on Wonderland Road North.  A 12-year-old girl was near the mall when she was approached by a man who began talking and walking with her short distance before he inappropriately touched her.

The girl ran home and the police were contacted. She was not physically injured.

Wal is believed to have boarded a flight back to Edmonton on Thursday. He is described as a black male in his late 30s or early 40s, 6’3” to 6’4” tall, with a very thin build, short dark hair, dark brown eyes, and a noticeable accent. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with gold on it, dark-coloured pants and black shiny shoes.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
