Shooting in Mississauga leaves London woman dead

An early morning shooting outside a Mississauga bar has claimed the life of a London woman.

Peel Regional Police were called to a bar in the area of Torbram Road and Drew Road in Mississauga just before 3 a.m. Monday. When they got there, they found a 24-year-old London woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later pronounced dead.

"It is believed that there were several witnesses that were in the area, that have not yet had the opportunity to speak to investigators," police said in a statement issued Monday. "These witnesses, or anyone else with information, are asked to provide information to the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau by calling 905-453-2121 ext. 3205. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca."

The victim's name has not yet been released.
