Man killed in Norfolk County crash

A man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Houghton Township.

The black pickup truck was westbound on Beach Lane, near First Concession Road Wednesday afternoon when it left the roadway and hit a few trees before going down a ravine, Norfolk OPP said.

A passer-by noticed the truck and called police.

The driver and lone occupant of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are not releasing the man's name or age until family are notified.

Beach Lane at First Concession Road was closed for several hours while police investigated the cause of the crash.

This is the second serious crash in Norfolk this week. On Monday night, a van and motorcycle collided on McDowell Road East at Charlotteville Quarter Line, near Simcoe seriously injuring two people.
