Local musician competes to perform at Boots and Hearts

A London singer and songwriter is hoping an emerging artist competition will land him on the same stage as country superstars Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert.

Warren Hargraves is trying to take the Chevy Music wildcard finalist spot at the Boots and Heats 2019 Emerging Artist Showcase. To get there, the London native needs to receive the most votes in an online competition launched by the massive outdoor music festival in Oro-Medonte, Ontario.

Hargraves is up against two other competitors -- Wasaga Beach's Rebecca Rain and Halifax's Dave Sampson.

Voting is open until July 26.

The winner of the wildcard finalist competition will go on to perform, alongside seven other up and coming musicians, at this year's Boots and Hearts festival next month. The overall winner of the emerging artist showcase will receive a trip to Nashville, a professional songwriting session, a professional photo shoot and a single release with Warner Music Canada. The grand prize package is valued at $25,000.

Fans can vote for Hargraves by clicking here.

Lambert and Aldean headline the festival on August 10 and August 11.
