Driver stopped doing twice the speed limit

A 37-year-old London man is without his vehicle and licences for a week after Elgin OPP clocked a vehicle doing more than 160 kilometres per hour in an 80 km/h zone.

Police spotted the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Talbot Line in West Elgin just before 9 p.m. on Sunday.

The vehicle pulled over for police without incident.

The driver was charged with stunt driving. His licence was also suspended and vehicle impounded for seven days.

The incident has police once again reminding drivers to practice safe driving habits during the summer months, due to the increase in travel.
