Stretch of Adelaide to close Thursday

There will be some traffic headaches in London on Thursday, as a portion of Adelaide Street is closed for rail crossing repairs.

The City of London said Adelaide will be closed between Pall Mall Street and Central Avenue from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m. The road will be closed to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.

"Motorists are reminded to follow the signed detour route via Hamilton Road to Highbury Avenue to Oxford Street, or use the Waze navigation app to avoid disruption," the city said in a media release on Wednesday. "Pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured via Central Avenue to William Street to Pall Mall Street."

The closure will also force the London Transit Commission to detour routes 16 and 92.
