Man, teenage girl charged in armed robbery

An early morning convenience store robbery has led to charges against a man and a 15-year-old girl.

Police were called to the store at 1225 Wonderland Rd. N at around 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday. The clerk told officers that a male and a female came into the store, threatened her with a handgun, and demanded money and cigarettes. The robbers then ran from the scene.

"A 28-year-old London man and a 15-year-old girl are each charged with robbery, possession of a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence, and with wearing a mask/disguise during the commission of an offence," police said in a media release issued Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the man is also charged with carrying a concealed weapon.
