Woman hurt in Tillsonburg parking lot robbery

Provincial police are looking for a suspect after a woman was hurt during an armed robbery attempt in a Tillsonburg parking lot.

The woman was returning a shopping cart to a cart coral at a Broadway Avenue business after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday when a man approached her from behind and tried to take her purse. During a brief struggle the man pulled a knife and cut the woman. He then took off.

The woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The man is described as Caucasian, 26-34 years old, 6'0" tall, with an average build, and black hair. He was wearing blue jeans, a brown coloured hoodie style sweatshirt and running shoes. The man also has a tattoo of an anchor on his wrist.

Oxford OPP are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
