Vandals damage cottage, sink boat

Provincial police are looking for suspects after vandals caused extensive damage to a cottage and sunk a boat in Long Point.

According to Norfolk OPP, sometime between July 1 and July 29 unknown individuals broke into a cottage on Cut Boulevard. They punched holes in the walls and destroyed a bathroom sink and toilet before sinking a small vessel inside a boathouse on the property.

The damage was reported to police Monday afternoon.

The incident has prompted police to issue a reminder to the community to always report suspicious activity.

Anyone with information about the damage to the cottage is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
