Man arrested following weapon investigation

A police investigation is ongoing after a report of a man with a weapon shut down an area of London's end.

The London Police Service closed Second Street between Oxford and Dale streets, and Mardell between Second and Jim Ashton streets shortly before 4 p.m. on Friday after officers contained the area.

After around two hours, police said a London man who was believed to be in possession of a weapon was taken into custody without incident.

It is unknown if any charges will be laid or if a weapon was recovered.

The area has since been reopened to the public but an investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
