Police release sketch of sexual assault suspect

London police are hoping the release of a composite sketch will help them find a suspect in a sexual assault.

According to police, the assault happened around 7 p.m. on July 26 at the Civic Gardens near Springbank Drive and Wonderland Road. A woman was approached by a man riding a bike. The woman reported to police that the man sexually assaulted her and then took off, heading west through the park.

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, between 35-45 years old, approximately 5’10” tall with a medium, athletic build. He was bald or had very short hair, a black goatee and very white teeth. He was wearing a grey t-shirt, dark pants or shorts, black running shoes and mirrored aviator-style sunglasses. He spoke in a thick accent and was riding a silver or grey coloured mountain bike.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
