Police investigating weekend drowning of London woman

Provincial police in Huron County are investigating after the drowning of a London woman on the weekend.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the shore of Lake Huron approximately five kilometres north of Grand Bend around 11 a.m. Sunday about a possible drowning. When they arrived, the body of a woman was found in the water and brought to shore.

Joyce Thomas, 36, of London was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, August 5.
