Man charged after stolen vehicle rollover

A single-vehicle rollover in Thames Centre led provincial police to two stolen vehicles and left a London man with half a dozen charges.

Middlesex OPP were called to the crash on Wellburn Road between Elginfield Road and Gregory Drive around 6:30 a.m. on Monday. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle ran from the wreckage into a nearby cornfield before officers arrived, police said. The OPP canine unit was brought in to help search for the driver. An arrest was made shortly after.

Police determined the vehicle involved in the crash was stolen from Wellburn. A second vehicle, which was stolen from London, was also discovered during the search of the area.

A 25-year-old London man is charged with operation of a vehicle while prohibited, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to stop after a crash, and failure to comply with probation.
