Frijia named Lightning GM

There's a new man at the helm of the London Lightning.

Team owner Vito Frijia's son Mark Frijia was promoted to the position of general manager as the team heads into the 2019/2020 season. He will now oversee team operations and player recruitment.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to grow with the team and I have a lot of exciting news to announce in the coming weeks and some great new ideas to bring to the table," said Mark. "I look forward to building on our four NBL (National Basketball League) Championships and continuing the great expectations that come along with the job.”

Mark has spent the past two seasons as the Lightning's assistant general manager.

The schedule for the Lightning's upcoming season has yet to be released.
