Charges laid in downtown stabbing

A 46-year-old London man is facing charges in connection with a stabbing in the downtown on Wednesday.

London police were originally called about a man running into traffic in the area of Horton and Wellington Streets, near Goodwill Industries around 8:40 a.m. When officers arrived they found a 56-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. He had run to a nearby business for help.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A suspect in the stabbing was arrested roughly six hours later.

Allen Dale Wolfe, 46, of London, is now charged with aggravated assault, breach of probation, and possession of a Schedule I substance. He is scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Thursday.

The victim and the accused knew each other, police said.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
