Expected thunderstorms force cancellation of airshow opening night

The threat of severe thunderstorms has forced organizers of AirShow London to scrap the Friday night portion of the show.

The decision was made as Environment Canada predicted that strong thunderstorms would develop in the London region on Friday afternoon.

"Safety is the number one priority for spectators, volunteers and performers and even though it is a disappointing decision to make, it is the correct one," a statement from AirShow London said.

General admission and Friday Photo Pit tickets for the Friday show will be valid on Saturday and Sunday.

According to organizers, people with Flight Line Pub tickets, Business Class Lounge and Runway Seating will be contacted directly to exchange their tickets for Saturday or Sunday, as space is limited for each day.

Individual corporate chalet owners will be contacted directly.
