Police seek suspect following daylight bank robbery

Police are looking for a suspect following a mid-day bank robbery in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Service said on Monday shortly before 12:45 p.m., a man wearing dark clothing and a motorcycle helmet entered the Scotia Bank on Dundas Street and demanded cash from the cashier.  He then took off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police said no weapons were involved in the robbery and no one was injured.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'10" tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a red motorcycle helmet with an open face, a black biking jacket, black pants and red shoes. He may have also been carrying some type of dark coloured bag. Police have also released a surveillance photo of the suspect, which can be seen above.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
