London man accused of making online threats identified

Charges have been laid against a London man accused of making threatening remarks online to a family member.

The London Police Service said a concerned citizen contacted police in the Toronto area Wednesday after the threats were made during discussions over the internet with a family member in London.

Police said the threats to harm others were general in nature and not directed at any specific facility or institution.

As a result, the London police were contacted and arrested a 31-year-old man in relation to the investigation.

Jason Richard Stevens, 31, of London, is charged with two counts of uttering threats of death or bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in London court on Thursday.
