Child pornography charges laid after man threatens to release photo of teen

A London man is facing charges after a threat was made to release an intimate photo of a 14-year-old girl.

The London Police Service said in December of 2013, the intimate photo was shared during ongoing Facebook Messenger discussions between an adult male and a girl who was 14-years-old at the time. In 2016, the man then demanded more photos and meetings with the girl, and threated to share the original photo online.

The communications between the two ended in 2016 and were reported to police last week.

Following an investigation by the London Police Service's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, police have charged 24-year-old Adam Joseph Dossantos of London with extortion, sexual assault, unlawfully possessing child pornography, printing/publishing/possessing child pornography, two counts of luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication, and luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication.

Dossantos was scheduled to appear in a London court on Friday.

Anyone with further information regarding this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
