Knights fall to Barrie 6-2

The London Knights were defeated by the Barrie Colts 6-2 on Saturday.

The Knights kicked off the game with a goal from Antonio Stranges just 2:44 into the first period. Jason Willms answered back with a power play goal for the Colts at 10:36 tying up the game. Connor McMichael broke that tie at 14:22 putting the Knights in the lead by one. Matej Pekar put the game into another tie, scoring at 14:19 into the second period.

Tyler Foerster broke the tie scoring for the Colts at 7:50 into the third period. Pekar scored once again at 11:40 putting Barrie in the lead by two. Goals from Luke Bignell and Pekar made it 6-2.

Knights goaltender Jordan Kooy saved 26 shots out of 32 shots on net.

The Knights will face off against the Erie Otters at Budweiser Gardens next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
