Spitfires shoot down Knights 4-2

The London Knights suffered their third straight loss with a 4-2 defeat at the hands of the Windsor Spitfires on Friday.

The Spitfires were on the board first after Tyler Angle scored late in the first period. Jonathan Gruden scored the only goal of the second frame for the Knights to tie the game heading into the third.

Liam Foudy added a goal 1:12 into the final period to give London a 2-1 lead, but Cole Purboo, Jean-Luc Foudy and Tyler Angle all scored back-to-back goals for Windsor to double up the Knights for the win.

Spitfires goaltender Kari Piiroinen made 31 saves out of 33 shots on net, while Knights goalie Jordan Kooy made 30 saves out of 34 shots.

The Knights are at home again on Saturday to take on the Kingston Frontenacs at 4 p.m.  The Spitfires will then face off against the Soo Greyhounds on Thursday at the WFCU Centre starting at 7:05 p.m.
