Man charged in variety store robbery

A 32-year-old London man is facing charges after an armed robbery at a convenience store.

Just after 1 p.m. Thursday, a man wearing a Hallowe'en mask went into a store at 131 Waterloo St., armed with what was believed to be a gun. He demanded and received some cash and took off in a car.

According to police, a suspect was identified and arrested in the south end of the city a few hours after the robbery. Officers seized a replica gun.

The clerk at the store wasn't hurt during the robbery.

Sebastian Sokolski is charged with armed robbery and wearing a disguise with intent.
