Firebirds lay waste to the Knights

The Flint Firebirds hammered the Knights 6-1 on Friday to snap London's five-game win streak.

The Firebirds scored later in the first period but Alec Regula put the Knights on the board 1:27 into the second to tie things up. However, Flint was just getting started and scored another three back-to-back goals before the end of the second frame. The Firebirds capped off their win by scoring two more unanswered goals in the third.

Despite the loss, the Knights were only slightly outshot by the Firebirds 37-36.

The Knights will look to bounce back on Sunday at 2 p.m. when they take on the Kitchen Rangers at Budweiser Gardens.
