Police identify body pulled from Lake Erie

Provincial police have released the identity of a male body pulled from Lake Erie near Long Point.

The body of 20-year-old Alexander Schweitzer of Norfolk County, was pulled from the water on November 22. Schweitzer had been reported missing earlier that day by his friends after spending a night at a cottage on a nearby island.

A post-mortem examination was done at a hospital in Hamilton on Saturday. OPP said the death is not suspicious and foul play is not suspected in the 20-year-old's death.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
