Motorcyclist dies following crash near Port Dover

One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle just west of Port Dover.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday shortly before 3:40 p.m., a motorcycle and an SUV collided at the intersection of Radical Road and Forest Glen Court.

The motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and, despite the efforts of emergency crews, was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the motorcyclist is not being released until next of kin have been notified.

Radical Road was closed at the intersection for several hours while officers conducted an investigation, but it was reopened to traffic at around 10:30 p.m.

Police said the investigation is in its early stages and no further information has been released at this time.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
