Man charged after $58K worth of cocaine seized

A 32-year-old man faces charges after a drug bust that saw London police seize more than half of a kilogram of cocaine.

Police raided a home and a vehicle in the area of Byron Baseline Road and Boler Road around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Officers seized 584 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $58,400. They also seized approximately $12,000 in cash, a digital scale, a cocaine press, a money counter, and cellular phones.

The suspect is charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
