Knights outplay Greyhounds 6-5 in OT

The London Knights narrowly defeated the Soo Greyhounds 6-5 in OT at the GFL Memorial Gardens on Sunday.

The Knights kicked off the game with a goal scored by Cole Tymkin. Cole MacKay and Zack Trott scored for the Greyhounds to end the first period.

Antonio Stranges scored a power-play goal 3:20 into the second period followed by a goal shot by Luke Evangelista. Robert Calisti responded with a goal 12:45 into the frame for the Greyhounds. Connor McMichael pushed the Knights in the lead by one.

Jaromir Pytlik scored a power-play goal which was quickly followed by a goal from Jaden Peca for Soo in the third period. The Knights' Josh Nelson scored 12:57 into the frame putting the game at a tie and forcing the game into overtime.

Liam Foudy scored a power-play goal 0:35 into the overtime period giving the win to the Knights.

The Knights will face-off against the Peterborough Petes at the Peterborough Memorial Centre on Thursday. Puck drops at 7:05 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
