High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

An elderly woman involved in a two-vehicle crash north of Woodstock last Sunday has died from her injuries.
Oxford OPP were called to the collision at Highway 59 and Oxford Road 33 in East Zorra-Tavistock Township around 1:25 p.m. on November 24.
Joyce Mugford, 84, of Woodstock was taken to hospital with serious injuries. She has since died, police said on Monday.
Another person involved in the crash was treated for minor injuries.
The investigation into the cause of the collision in ongoing. Police continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to give them a call at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
