Morell re-elected school board chair

Middlesex County Trustee Arlene Morell will serve a second term as chair of the Thames Valley District School Board.

Morell, who has more than 15 years experience in local and provincial education leadership, was re-elected to the position Monday night.

“I am pleased to continue to work with all of our school communities and trustees as partners in public education,” Morell said in a statement.

Prior to serving her first term as board chair this year, Morell acted as vice-chair of the board for two years.

She also founded and chaired the Thames Valley Parent Involvement Committee and was the president of Thames Valley Council of Home and School Associations before being voted in for her first term as a trustee in 2014.

Elgin County Trustee Meagan Ruddock has been elected as vice-chair.

This is Ruddock's first-term as a trustee.

Morell and Ruddock will begin their new roles at the board’s inaugural meeting on December 10.
