Man jumps out, chases woman in London

A London man has been charged after a woman was forced to flee in fear as she was chased in the Hamilton Road area.

The London Police Service said on Monday at around 12:30 a.m., the woman was walking along Hamilton Road near Rectory Street when a man who has been hiding in wait lunged at her. He then chased the woman as she ran from him.

The woman was able to get away and flee into a building. She was not injured.

As a result of an investigation, 44-year-old Joao Camarada of London has been charged with one count of criminal harassment by watching and besetting.  He has been released from custody with a court date set for January 3, 2020.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
