Snowy conditions cause slowdowns southeast of London

The morning commute was a slow one for drivers southeast of London.

A winter weather travel advisory was issued for St. Thomas, Aylmer, and eastern Elgin County around 8 a.m. on Tuesday before being lifted a bit before 10 a.m.  According to Environment Canada, the area could see up to 10 centimetres of snow by Tuesday afternoon. The heaviest snow was expected to fall during the morning rush hour.

Drivers were advised to adjust their speed accordingly as there was a risk that untreated roads would become snow-covered and icy.

The snow was expected to taper off late Tuesday afternoon.
