Woodstock bank robbed at gunpoint

Police are looking for two suspects after an armed robbery at a bank in Woodstock.

The Woodstock Police Service said on Wednesday shortly before 3:15 p.m., two males entered the Scotia Bank on Springbank Avenue and demanded cash. One of the males was armed with a black handgun.  Police have not said how much money if any was stolen during the robbery, but no injuries have been reported.

The two bank robbers left the scene and fled in a waiting vehicle described as an older model four-door black car, possibly a Honda.

The male holding the handgun is described as being nonwhite and he was wearing a hoody. No further descriptions have been provided at this time.

Police said the investigation is still in its early stages and the Scotia Bank has been closed.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
