Rangers clobber Knights 7-2

The Kitchener Rangers defeated the London Knights 7-2 at Budweiser Gardens on Saturday.

Matvey Guskov gave the Knights an early lead with a goal 1:43 into the first period. Billy Moskal extended the lead with a goal 6:25 into the period, making it 2-0 Knights at the first intermission. But those would be the only goals the Knights scored, as Kitchener scored seven unanswered goals over the second and third periods.

Riley Damiani scored the first goal for the Rangers, a power play goal 3:34 into the second period. He then tied it at two with a short handed goal 9:12 into the frame. Jonathan Yantsis scored what proved to be the winning goal at 11:37 in the second period, before scoring his second goal of the game at 13:42. Greg Meireles, Arber Xhekaj, and Mike Petizian added insurance goals for the Rangers.

The Knights face off against the Sarnia Sting at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena on Sunday. Puck drops at 4:05 p.m.
