Fire sparked by firework thrown at home

Woodstock police are looking for suspects after a lit firework was thrown at a home on New Year's Day, leading to a blaze that injured one person.

The firework was tossed at a home on Springbank Avenue just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday. It quickly ignited a screen window.

The homeowner was able to extinguish the small fire, but suffered minor injuries in the process.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection to the incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
