Lightning narrowly defeat Five 139-136

The London Lightning narrowly defeated the Sudbury Five on Sunday afternoon.

The Five took the lead first with a two-point advantage to end the first quarter 36-34. The Lightning managed to overtake them and were in the lead by two points with less than three minutes left in the second quarter but went into halftime tied with the Five 58-58. The Lightning took back the lead with three minutes left in the third quarter with a four-point advantage and ended the third quarter in the lead with a score of 105-98. With less than five minutes left in the period, the Lightning continued with a two-point lead to end the fourth quarter 139-136.

Garrett Williamson led London with 30 points and six rebounds, while Randy Phillips added 28 points and eight rebounds. Xavier Moon put up 25 points and two rebounds.

The Lightning will face the Windsor Express on Saturday. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
