Mount Brydges home extensively damaged by fire

The Ontario Fire Marshal is probing a house fire in Mount Brydges.

The blaze broke out inside the two-storey home at 22706 Adelaide Rd. just after 5:45 p.m. Thursday night. Flames and thick black smoke were seen coming from the roof of the structure, which had been converted into apartments.

All of the tenants made it out without injury.

Damage to the yellow brick house is said to be extensive, but an official damage estimate has not been released.

The Strathroy Caradoc police criminal investigation division is assisting the Ontario Fire Marshal in the investigation into the cause of the fire.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
