Knights falter to Spirit 6-5

The London Knights faltered to the Saginaw Spirit 6-5 on Saturday.

Saginaw's Cole Coskey scored the first goal, a power-play goal 11:30 into the first period. Coskey scored his second goal 19:23 into the frame.

Connor McMichael scored a power-play goal for the Knights 0:30 into the second period. Billy Moskal followed with a goal for the Spitfires. McMichael scored two back-to-back goals to put the Knights in the lead by one.

Cole Perfetti, Dalton Duhart and Damien Giroux scored to put the Firebirds in the lead by two in the third period. Ryan Merkley scored 18:53 into the frame.

Knights goalie Dylan Myskiw saved 32 out of 27 shots on net.

The Knights face-off against the Soo Greyhounds on Sunday. Puck drops at 2:07 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
