Two kayakers rescued from Thames River

Two kayakers were rescued from the Thames River on Sunday.

The London Fire Department received the reports of kayakers in the river around 1:50 p.m. The crews made contact and pulled two men out of the water near Boler Road and Commissioners Road around 3:25 p.m.

The pair were taken to the hospital and their conditions are unknown.

The rescue came shortly after the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) urged caution around all local waterways, as water levels are expected to remain very high for the next few days.

Caution is urged for people traveling on Sunday and to work and school on Monday.
