Fentanyl, cocaine, cash and road sign seized in raid

Seven people were taken into custody after a raid in Norfolk County that turned up a quantity of fentanyl and cocaine.

OPP Haldimand/Norfolk County arrested seven people after searching a home on Queen Street North in Simcoe on Friday.

Police took seven people into custody without incident. During the search, police recovered a number of illicit drugs, a large amount of Canadian currency and a Norfolk County road sign.

Three people have been charged with various offences.

A 20-year-old from Hamilton faces multiple charges including possession of a prohibited device of ammunition, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and four counts of fail to comply with recognizance. A 33-year-old from Norfolk County was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of Nabilone and fail to comply with probation order. A 44-year-old from Norfolk County was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of Fentanyl and possession property obtained by crime under $5,000.

All are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Simcoe at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
