Strathroy house fire causes $300K damage

A fire that caused significant damage to a home in Strathroy Monday night is not believed to be suspicious.

Strathroy-Caradoc firefighters and police were called to the two-storey house at 431 Strathroyal Ave. just after 9 p.m. The residents of the home managed to escape the blaze before fire crews arrived and no injuries were reported.

An investigation determined the fire started in the basement.

Damage is estimated at $300,000.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
