Lightning rise above Hurricanes 112-101

The London Lightning remain undefeated in seven games after they struck down the Halifax Hurricanes 112-101 on Tuesday.

London pulled out ahead with a four-point lead at the end of the first quarter but the Hurricanes inched ahead to enter halftime with a 56-55 lead. The Lightning retook the lead in the third frame but Halifax continued to keep up with only a 78-72 deficit heading into the fourth.

London jumped further ahead and held their lead in the final quarter until the buzzer to win with an 11-point advantage.

Mareik Isom scored a game-high 24 points for London, while Xavier Moon put up 21 points and had eight rebounds. AJ Gaines also added 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
