London woman wanted in Airbnb assault

St. Thomas police are searching for a London woman accused of assaulting a local Airbnb owner.

A man and woman were leaving the short-term rental around 1 p.m. on Monday when they got into an argument with the owner over the rental agreement. The dispute turned violent when the owner was hit in the face with such force it broke her glasses.

Police were called, but the man and woman were gone by the time officers arrived.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Brittany Waite, 27, of London. She is charged with assault and breach of release condition.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
