15-year-old charged for driving 95 km/h in 40 km/h zone

A 15-year-old is facing stunt driving charges after provincial police clocked a vehicle doing more than double the posted speed limit through a residential area in Delhi.

Norfolk OPP officers spotted the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Imperial Street around 12:50 p.m. on Monday. Police radar showed the vehicle was doing over 95 km/h in the posted 40 km/h zone.

In addition to stunt driving, the 15-year-old driver has been charged with operating a vehicle without a licence.

Stunt driving results in an automatic seven-day vehicle impoundment and licence suspension and a minimum fine of $2,000.
